This was one of my first wedding and to this day one of my favorite! I was nervous as could be thinking about all the things that could go wrong(flat tire, dead battery, bear) but the minute I saw the Mother of the Bride open the door to the bride snacking and getting her preparation going all those scary thoughts melted away. Seeing so many smiles and and such giddy emotion for such a beautiful day is one of the best ways to eliminate worry.
The Bride is one of the nicest girls youve ever met - the entire community knows her and her family and for all the right reasons. They’re fun and have some much love to share. The Groom was somewhat more mysterious at first and for the best reasons - He spent summers working in the Yosemite high country running horses and mules to supply and feed the trail crews and his winters were spent keeping roads clear in 20’ plus snow conditions!
I’d been to all the locations before but you never know what the weather can bring especially in Yosemite in the middle of November! It was a chilly morning with frost on the ground but the sun made its way out in time to defrost the ground just in time for the end of the ceremony. We couldn’t miss the traditional ringing of the bell by the newlywed couple of course.
A Brunch Buffet Reception was a first and I hope not a last. The Ahwahnee anytime of year is a truly magic place but in fall with chill in the air and a huge fire in the lounge something about it feels like another world - I can only compare to my imagination of arriving at Hogwarts meets the west.
Ive worked with this Bride several times for engagement and family photos and I cant wait to visit them in their new home soon - Teton Natl Park!
